It is up to you to choose how and where you want to live during the time you study in Malmö. With almost 600 student apartments in four different buildings spread across all Malmö, the housing company MKB offers genuine freedom of choice in accommodation.
The Rönnen and Xantippa student blocks are intended for student accommodation only. Both the other buildings are mixed. The terms and conditions are equally good in all our student residences. July and August are rent-free months and household electricity is included. Broadband and cable TV are installed in all apartments.

Rönnblomsgatan 11
With 491 apartments, Rönnen is our largest student residence. Newly decorated one- and two- room apartments all with own kitchen, bathroom and separate storeroom. Ultra-modern laundry and generous common areas. Strategically located near busy Värnhem which is full of services and offers excellent communications.
Lundavägen
Lundavägen 4
The expanding Östervärn on Malmö’s northen approach has both shops and services on the doorstep and communications to match. It is sought after by those who appreciate an active urban life. Fine attic apartments of between 28 and 41 sq. m. await you here. The total of 13 one-room apartments all have own kitchen and newly decorated bathroom. Close to Värnhemstorget.
Xantippa
Västra Rönneholmsvägen 43A
A more central location than at Xantippa it is hard to find in Malmö. In this fine 1950’s building, renovated to the highest standard, there are 32 light and fine student rooms in the corridor. A shared kitchen contributes to well-being and solidarity. At the top of the building there are four two-room apartments of 40 sq. m.
Södra Förstadsgatan

Centrally located and well-planned apartments make this student housing much sought after. Within walking distance of the School of Dentistry and Musikhögskolan (Academy of Music). Södervärn’s bus station is just around the corner and the colourful Möllevångstorget is also nearby. A total of 41 apartments, comprising one-room and two-room apartments with own kitchen and bathroom.
Sege Park
Östra fäladsgatan 46-48
In Sege Park you live within cycling distance of the city centre. The flats here are very well presented, in 2 buildings converted in 2006 and 2009, and are of a very high standard. Close by there are extensive green spaces and the environment is calm and peaceful. All flats have their own kitchen and bathroom with a toilet and shower.
Södra Sommarstaden

It is not far to Pildammsparken from Södra Sommarstaden and around the corner you also have the Mobilia shopping centre. You can cycle to the city centre in under 10 minutes. The 144 flats have one or two rooms and their own kitchen and bathroom with a toilet and shower. The building was converted into student flats in 2006 and is light and modern inside.
Rönnen international housing

The Rönnen International Housing student residence is located in central Katrinelund, which both has a high density of services and offers excellent transport links. There are 50 furnished student flats here, built in 2005. They are primarily for international students.
Only for students
The student apartments are intended for you who are actively following a course of studies. We prioritise applicants who live outside commuting distance, who will study or who have already commenced studies, at Malmö University or for vocational qualifications (KY-Utbildning). Otherwise an order of priority system is used which is based on how long you have been looking for accommodation.
You must be able to show a letter of acceptance to an institute, university or for vocational education and training. Ongoing studies naturally count in this case. Nothing stops you from applying before you obtain your letter of acceptance, however in order to sign a lease a letter of acceptance is indeed necessary.
The application may be carried out from the time you have reached the age of 17 years. In order to be able to sign your own lease, however, an age-limit of 18 applies.
For us, it is important that our customers are able to show that they have an acceptable payment capacity. Before we invite you for a viewing of the apartment we take up references from earlier housing as well as carrying out normal credit control. Applicants with debts incurred from previous leases or other record for default of payment are not approved.
The period of notice for student apartments is one month, compared with ‘ordinary’ apartments that have a period of notice of three months. At the end of the months of July and August, however, three months notice becomes applicable.
In order to be able to remain in the student apartment a rate of study of 14 points or more per term is required. Those who terminate their studies, or do not complete the education may remain for a maximum of three months.
How to conduct a successful search
Information concerning vacant apartments, both student apartments and ordinary apartments is found here on MKB’s website. The most recent vacancies you will find under ‘Apartments’ in the menu above.
You can apply for student apartments on Boplats Syd’s homepage. The process is the same as for an ‘ordinary’ rent-controlled apartment. Student apartments are to be found in the areas of Fågelbacken, Katrinelund, Södervärn and Östervärn.
You are free to familiarise yourself with what is offered at any time and also register a notification of interest.
For each apartment advertised there is a description. In this, you will find information on the monthly rent, floor plan, earliest moving-in date and also, in most cases, a ground plan. There is also information on whether the apartment is furnished or not.
Our goal is to offer as much factual and objective information as possible about the apartment, the building and the area in question to enable you to obtain a good idea about living there.
Vacant student apartments are open for notifications of interest for three calendar days [72 hours].
You are welcome to subscribe to receive e-mail notices of vacant apartments via Boplats Syd’s homepage. When creating your account here it is possible to indicate your own criteria such as requested housing areas, size of apartment, maximum rental and so on. This enables you to avoid the work of checking for vacant apartments on your own behalf.
Have you found a residence that suits you? In that case, log in at Boplats Syd with your user name and password so as to register your interest in the apartment. Click on the button to register your interest, but only do this for those apartments you are really interested in.
The results of your notification of interest are sent out via e-mail. You are also informed under ‘Notifications of Interest’ when you have logged in to the system.
